Inchigeelagh village is in the eastern end of the civil parish of Inchigeelagh (the old name Iveleary is still the title of the catholic parish and used colloquially for the area); in the north west of County Cork; in the province of Munster; in the Republic of Ireland. Provinces are no longer an official entity in Ireland, but are widely referred to geographically.

We are situated in the upper valley of the River Lee (Gleann Allainn na Laoi) , about 12 miles from its source. Around us ranges of hills, we call them mountains, rise to around 300 metres. The landscape is rocky but very green.

We are 32 (51km) miles west of Cork City in County Cork, 98 miles by road from Shannon Airport, 28 miles from Killarney, and approx. 200 from Dublin, our capital city.
